3,500 precast concrete piles for the West ring road
Donderdag, 10 September 2009 back to overview
When complete, the West ring road will extend the A5 to form a direct link between the A4 (to The Hague) and the A10 (Amsterdam ring road), considerably relieving traffic congestion in the entire region. Completion of the road is expected to coincide with that of the second Coen Tunnel, to which it will connect. Our company site in Amsterdam’s Westelijk Havengebied means we also stand to benefit. We are proud to have been able to contribute to these two projects.
Much of the West ring road will be elevated. The West ring road will transform into a 3.3 km viaduct, the longest in the Netherlands, as it nears our company site in the Westelijk Havengebied. Voorbij Funderingstechniek is to supply approximately 80 construction pits for the viaduct supports.
Work is to start in week 40 this year (2009). The West ring road is scheduled for completion in 2012.
