Contract for Moerdijk quay wall

This month Voorbij Funderingstechniek was awarded a contract by Van Oord Nederland B.V. for the piling work for approximately 600 metres of combi piling, anchored with MV piles. The above is part of the implementation of the ‘MvO-OBM quay wall and bay’ project in Moerdijk harbour on the Hollands Diep near Moerdijk business park’s eastern ring road. (quay wall / harbour)

The quay wall and bay will be constructed at the 12 hectare site in order for the two local operators, Overslagbedrijf Moerdijk (OBM) and Martens en Van Oord (MVO) to accommodate large vessels. The two companies are to use the area for handling bulk and processing building materials. To ensure that the two companies have enough quay length, the bay is to have a water depth of 9 metres in the centre of the site.

Quay construction starts in April, and the first part is due for completion in August. The complete harbour and quays are expected to be complete late this year.
