First foundation for Second Coen Tunnel

Voorbij Funderingstechniek installs vibro combi piles. The purpose of these tension piles is to keep the entry and exit ramps in place despite the upward water pressure. The work was completed in approximately three months. The contractor responsible for the Second Coen Tunnel is Coentunnel Company BV, which comprises Arcadis, BESIX Group, CFE, Dredging International, Dura Vermeer and TBI Bouw. The entire project was performed as a Design, Build, Finance and Maintain (DBFM) contract. The total contract was worth over 2 billion euros.
